Role Overview 

We seek a highly motivated and organized post-doc researcher to lead and coordinate critical projects within our organization. This individual will play a pivotal role in driving research applied to biomedical unmet needs primarily in oncology field. The ideal candidate thrives in a start-up environment and has a strong background in nanomedicine within the chemistry or life sciences sector. 


Key Responsibilities: 

1. Research planning & execution: 

• Synthesis and characterization of biocompatible and biodegradable nanoparticles to be used as drug delivery carriers. 

• Characterize the physico-chemical structure of the nanoparticles/nanomotors. 

• Study of enzyme functionalization and drug loading/release capabilities of nanoparticles for the development of precision and personalized nanobots. 

• Design of nanobots to be used as active smart drug delivery systems. 


2. Research coordination & reporting: 

• Guide bachelor, master, and PhD students. 

• Interaction and reporting within Nanobots Therapeutics and partners. 

• Actively working in the development of new ideas that give rise to future and/or evolution of projects and generation of intellectual property. 

• Technical preparation and justification of project proposals to public and private funding. 

• Direct reporting to CSO. Provide regular updates to C-level management on project status and KPIs.

 

3. Strategic Contribution: 

• Support the development of the company’s long-term goals and pipeline. 

• Identify opportunities for nanomotors and drug development improvement and scalability. 


Qualifications & skills: 

Essential: 

• PhD in the field of chemistry, biochemistry, nanobiotechnology, pharmacy, nanomedicine, or similar. 

• Experience in nanoparticle synthesis, and characterization of biocompatible and/or biodegradable organic (e.g., lipidic, polymeric, hydrogel-based) nanocarriers. 

• Knowledge of common characterisation techniques in chemistry (NMR, FTIR, DLS, Z- potential, GPC, HPLC chromatography, SEM, TEM, AFM, spectroscopy equipment, etc). 

• Experience on surface and functionalization of nanoparticles (e.g., surface grafting with polymers to reduce protein corona effect, anchoring an antibody/enzyme.) 

• High level of English. 


Advantageous: 

• Experience in drug loading and drug delivery studies with therapeutic small molecules. 

• Basic knowledge of fluorescence microscopy.
